Privacy Policy.
Last updated: July 2026 · We process personal data exclusively within the scope of the GDPR and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG).
1. Controller
Marc Jouan Dias, Merkensteinerstrasse 22/2, 2540 Bad Vöslau, Austria — e-mail: office@t-rocket.com
2. Hosting
This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich (Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany). When you access the site, the host processes technically necessary server logs (IP address, timestamp, file requested, user agent) in order to operate the service securely (legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement is in place with the host.
3. Web analytics (Matomo, self-hosted)
We use the self-hosted analytics software Matomo in a cookieless configuration with
truncated IP addresses. No cookies are set, no data is passed to third parties and no cross-site
user profiles are created (legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — audience
measurement). Analytics runs on our own central, self-hosted Matomo instance at
stats.top3-ki.de (same operator, servers at ALL-INKL in Germany). We honour your
browser’s “Do Not Track” signal; beyond that you may object to the processing at any time by
e-mailing us.
4. Third-party services used by the map
Launch data, news, weather data, space station orbital data (TLE) and the space weather index (Kp)
are retrieved on your behalf by our own server (cache.php) and passed on to your
browser — your IP address is not transmitted to the respective source (Launch Library 2,
Spaceflight News API, MET Norway/Norway, CelesTrak/USA, NOAA/USA). For the following services your
browser does establish a direct connection, which transmits your IP address:
- OpenFreeMap — map tiles (© OpenStreetMap contributors)
- Esri / ArcGIS World Imagery — satellite imagery, only if you switch on the satellite layer (provider based in the USA; transfer to a third country possible)
- NASA GIBS (Black Marble) — night lights map layer, only if you switch on that layer (US federal agency; transfer to a third country possible)
- The Space Devs image CDN (DigitalOcean Spaces) — photos of rockets and spaceports (USA)
- News article thumbnails — loaded directly from the server of the respective news source (varying providers, some in third countries)
Served locally: fonts, country flags, the space station photos, our rocket and overview images and the MapLibre GL map library are all delivered from our own server. No data is transmitted to third parties in the process.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in providing a functioning application (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Where data is transferred to the USA, this takes place on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or, where the recipient is not certified under it, on the basis of standard contractual clauses pursuant to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR. We cannot guarantee a level of data protection equivalent to that of the EU for such transfers.
5. YouTube (only after a click)
Launch webcasts are loaded only once you actively click “play” (two-click solution via youtube-nocookie.com). Only then is data transmitted to Google (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC, USA). Legal basis: consent through an affirmative action (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
6. localStorage (no cookie banner required)
The application stores data exclusively in your browser’s local storage — no cookies are set and nothing is transmitted to third parties:
- API responses (launch data, news) for approx. 10–15 minutes, to reduce loading times and requests;
- your language choice and your personal launch reminder list (persistent until you delete them);
- your display settings — globe or 2D map, satellite imagery, night view and the chosen unit system (metric/imperial) — so the view looks the way you last set it on your next visit (persistent until you delete them);
- program files in the browser cache (service worker) for offline use and faster loading.
All of this is technically required for the service you requested (§ 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021), contains no personal data and can be deleted at any time via your browser settings. No tracking cookies are set.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). To exercise them, contact the e-mail address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
8. Changes
This policy will be updated whenever the website changes (for example when new features or services are added).
